The proof is in the results…
Biomass extraction presents complex challenges of selective solubility, high particulate contamination as well as viscosity issues in the product flow. PWGs extensive practical experience and unique perspective allow us to offer real solutions to overcome the significant filtration challenge facing specialty processors.
Plant Works Group offer production-ready filtration equipment skids to remove undesirable contaminants utilizing density, molecular weight and compound characteristics. As a result of extensive testing & validation, we implement a multi-stepped staged mechanical filtration approach.
Our engineers have been onsite with over 40 U.S. processors since 2015 covering a diverse range of applications. It is the sum of this practical experience that led to the innovations found in our turnkey system. These innovations include equipment modification as well as propriety SOPs, which are programmed in and represent the brain & nerve center of our automation package.
Critical to the success of our SOPs is the monitoring & control of feedstock entering each subsequent stage of the process. After each step in our filtration system the resulting product flow re-circulates in holding tanks to ensure that the subsequent mechanical skid receives the feedstock required to successfully perform its function. Bulk solids content, temperature as well as the rate of flow are all controlled through a comprehensive set of programmable logic controls (PLCs). Large site glass observation ports are included in the system, allowing operators and process engineers to easily see results in real-time and divert flows if/when required back to a previous filtration step for a second pass.
Filtration is arguably the most important step in the whole process as it will define not only the quality of your end product but also the smooth operation of solvent recovery, decarboxylation, distillation and isolation of target compounds. The equipment we’ve selected, customized and assemble was no easy task, our engineers took years working with leading filtration engineering firms in the U.S. to ensure that your hard-fought-for capital expenditures result in a system that works well at hand-over.

The current industry standard for wax separation is winterization that requires intensive temperature input in a very time-consuming batch process. Our engineering team implements an alternative method tried and proven by PWG to remove waxes & lipids from extract in a continuous flow high volume thin-film, non-membrane solution. Our approach is superior to the current industry standard, reducing capital expenditure, demands on your operators as well as ongoing operating costs.
